While homebrewing is becoming more trendy than ever (and trust me I know what I’m talking about… My partner has recently turned an entire room in our appartment as some sort of Beer Lab… That’s also how I realised hops smelled a bit like weed and my neighbours may be wondering what we’re doing down there…), you may want to up your game and try your hand at DIY whisky. Unfortunately, there’s nothing really legal about distilling alcohol at home in many countries… But you may not be able to distill, doesn’t mean you can’t blend your very own nectar, so let’s have a look at the options you can consider!
Operated by Drew Nicolson and Andy Davidson with the aid of Master of Malt John Lamond, this Scotland-based outfit lets anyone in the free-drinking world make his own blended whisky. If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at blending your own whisky, you’ll love this. Famous whisky retailers of Master of Malt have created a whisky blending kit, which contains everything you’ll need to go about making your own whisky. Once you’ve perfected your blend using the whiskies provided, visit their Blend Your Own Whisky page, and input the exact quantities of each whisky you used. You’ll then be able to name your whisky, and even buy a bottle of it!
