Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail’s American Whiskey portfolio is picking up some extra strength with the introduction of Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey and Coopers’ Craft Bourbon.
Woodford Reserve Rye is the third permanent line extension to the brand’s portfolio which also includes Woodford Reserve Bourbon and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. Master Distiller Chris Morris spent nearly a decade crafting a rye whiskey that was deemed worthy of the Woodford Reserve name.
Coopers’ Craft, which celebrates Brown-Forman’s more than 70 years of barrel-making and wood expertise, was the first new bourbon introduced by the company in 20 years. Brown-Forman is the only major spirits company that owns and operates new barrel-making cooperages for its spirits brands. Coopers’ Craft has a soft, light flavor profile for an easy drinking bourbon ideal for simple cocktails.
Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail team has placed considerable emphasis on growing its whiskey portfolio to meet the world-wide demand for brown spirits. In addition to Woodford Reserve Rye and Coopers’ Craft – as well as Old Forester, the company’s founding brand – the Brown-Forman Travel Retail portfolio will be soon be adding The BenRiach Single Malt Scotch Whisky and Slane Irish Whiskey with The GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh Single Malt Scotch Whiskies making their appearance in the future.
“The demand for whiskies, particularly American whiskies, plays into the strength of Brown-Forman. We feel that Woodford Reserve Rye and Coopers’ Craft will be terrific additions to our global travel retail portfolio,” said Monte Wilson, director of Americas and Global Key Accounts for Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail.
