It’s not a Dry January for all of us ! I still have the “work duty” excuse anyway ! 😉 But hey, while I’ve been offered so many great drams around Christmas, there are still a few bottles I’m desperately willing to put my hands on. So as usual, let’s have a look at my monthly wishlist, first edition of 2018, Happy New Year everyone ! 😀

Dingle Single Malt Whiskey

“Irish whiskey fans will undoubtedly be very excited about the whiskeys coming from the Dingle distillery, who have been at the forefront of the Irish whiskey revival. As luck would have it, they seem to be rather excited about their whiskey too, and have taken it upon themselves to release some of it at cask strength! This is their second batch of cask strength Irish single malt, which was matured in a combination of bourbon, Oloroso Sherry and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks, before being bottled at 60.1% ABV”

Teeling Revival 15 – Volume IV

“The fourth release in Teeling’s Revival series (celebrating the opening of Teeling’s distillery in Dublin) has enjoyed a rather intriguing finishing period. After ageing in ex-bourbon barrels, this single malt whiskey was filled into Muscat Port barrels for over 12 months. Very cool stuff, with plenty of chocolate and berry notes coming through clearly from the finish. A release of 10,000 bottles.”

Highland Park Dragon Legend

“An altogether smokier-than-normal addition to the Highland Park range, Dragon Legend shows off their peaty elements cleanly and clearly, alongside sweeter hints from the sherry-cask-matured portion of the expression.”

Bruichladdich The Organic 2009

“A 2009 vintage single malt from Bruichladdich, made with 100% organically grown Scottish barley. In fact, the whole process of making this whisky, from barley to bottle, has been organically certified by the Biodynamic Association!”

The Tweeddale 28 – The Evolution

“The oldest release from The Tweeddale range to date – The Evolution! This tasty blended Scotch whisky boasts an impressive 28 year old age statement and a flavour profile packed full of cooked fruit and festive spice notes.”

Springbank 1993 23 years old – Murray McDavid

“This is a rather intriguing bottling of 23 year old Springbank from Murray mcDavid’s Mission Gold range. It was distilled in 1993 and initially aged in a bourbon hogshead, before being transferred over to a first-fill Koval Bourbon cask then bottled in 2017 with an outturn of just 165 bottles.”
