What is Flaviar?<\/strong><\/p>\n “Flaviar is a club of spirits lovers and enthusiasts who want to discover new drinks. To help in this quest, we send our members a tasting pack of new and exciting flavours every month.<\/p>\n We’re very, very, very, very… arrrrrrr obsessed with awesome drinks and passionate about connecting those that like to be flaviarized (we just made this one up; it means something like experiencing all sorts of flavours together with your friends).\u00a0Of course we are a part of a bigger mission: change the way people drink, eat, taste. Every month Flaviar members receive a hand-picked sample pack of five premium flavours (Whisky, Rum, Cognac, Gin, Vodka, Grappa, Tequila,…) selected by our experts and industry professionals.”<\/p>\n VISIT FLAVIAR’S OFFICIAL WEBSITE FOR MORE DETAILS !<\/a><\/p>\n The tasting pack I received featured 5 world whisky drams: Writer’s Tears (Ireland), Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban (Scotland), Amrut (India), Santis Malt (Switzerland) & \u00a0Nikka Yoichi 10 Years Old (Japan).<\/p>\n To make the most out of this Flaviar experience, I asked a couple of friends to come over (who would say no to a whisky tasting night anyway ?<\/em>) and organised a blind tasting session [ending up hidding the samples under the living-room carpet to avoid nasty cheaters… All classy and refined :)].<\/em><\/p>\n And what best way to share this experience with you than allowing you to take part in this blind tasting?<\/p>\n One simple rule: try to match each dram with the corresponding tasting notes! (Answers below)<\/strong><\/p>\n Mystery Dram 1<\/strong><\/p>\n Nose: Sweet, Citrusy, cough syrup and honey notes<\/p>\n Palate: Honey, apples, pears, hints of oak and malted cereals<\/p>\n Finish:\u00a0Warming, sweet and long.<\/p>\n Mystery Dram 2<\/strong><\/p>\n Nose: \u00a0rich with candied fruits, smoke, bee wax and nutty hints<\/p>\n Palate: peat, solid wood (like your grandma’s parquet floor), plums, honey, figs, netherlands-style waffles<\/p>\n Finish: elegant with slight peat and caramel<\/p>\n Mystery Dram 3<\/strong><\/p>\n Nose: well-balanced and refreshing with summer fruits, apple and floral hints<\/p>\n Palate: nougat, iced mint, orchard fruits<\/p>\n Finish: medium-long with candy notes<\/p>\n Mystery Dram 4<\/strong><\/p>\n Nose: very fruit-forward (peaches, apricots…) with\u00a0vanilla custard, peat smoke and a hint of nutmeg spice.<\/p>\n Palate: sweet and silky, slight peat, oak, fruits<\/p>\n Finish: pleasant oak notes<\/p>\n Mystery Dram 5<\/strong><\/p>\n Nose: wood, grain, banana, medicinal notes<\/p>\n Palate: vibrant, zingy with tropical fruits and warm spices<\/p>\n Finish: medium-lenght and bitter<\/p>\n![\"flaviar\"](\"https:\/\/thewhiskylady.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/flaviar.jpg\")
