Woop woop ! It’s already time for a new spirited wishlist, this month is a bit special in the widening whisky world as today marks the beginning of “Whisky Month” celebrations (And I know many of you will be attending popular malted events this month such as Feis Ile in Islay or the no-less famous Spirit of Speyside Festival – kicking off today – no need to mention how jealous I am… !). I chose to put together a diverse selection today including blends, bourbons, single malts and even grain whiskies. 5 nectars from 5 different whisky countries, a relatively eclectic spectrum showcasing the wide array of possibilities whisky can offer (and as usual, click on titles for direct links to shops).

1. Hedonism Quindecimus 15th Anniversary – Compass Box (SCOTLAND)

“The original Hedonism, Compass Box’s first whisky, was released in 2000, and this special edition celebrates the company’s 15th birthday. A vatting of whiskies of varying ages from four different distilleries, this is a multi-layered and complex grain, showing off the flexibility of this increasingly popular type of whisky”

2. Togouchi Whisky 18 yo (JAPAN)

“Aged in Japan from Scottish malt and Canadian grain, Togouchi 18 Year Old is aged in an abandoned railway tunnel in the eponymous town – a malty, earthy and spicy whisky”

3. Jefferson’s Ocean Aged at sea (USA)

“An innovative release from Jefferson’s, Ocean was aged for between six and eight years on land, before the barrels were ‘finished’ on a ship at sea for the final six to ten months. A rich bourbon with a hint of salinity.”
