“Swally Shirts is a Glasgow-based t-shirt design company specialising in whisky and other drink-related t-shirts. The designs are fun and simple, giving fans of good quality drinks a way of showing their love of their favourite tipple !”

Reading this statement (and as my shopping sprees for whisky is almost as similar as the ones for new clothes), I must admit I was more than curious to know more about this new brand and had the pleasure to ask a few questions to the amazing team behind the project. Swally Shirts is indeed runned by 3 whisky lovers : Mark Connelly, who’s actually the figure behind Glasgow’s Whisky Festival, Lorraine Smith from Dormouse Tea Company and the great Andrew Nicolson from Whiskyblender.com !

Why “Swally Shirts” ?

For those – like me – whose mother tongue might not be English, the word “Swally” simply means having or going for a drink. Usually more than one…”I’m going out for a swally” (to be pronounced with a strong Glaswegian accent for greater impact !)

What’s in stock right now ?

They currently have whisky and beer designs but there are many more in the pipeline covering all kinds of drinks. Their latest design (actually my personal fav), Dark Side of the Malt, is a Pink Floyd-themed play on their classic album cover and is available to pre-order now (hurry, I got you a £5 off discount on the total amount before shipping for any purchase or pre-order above £20 – and trust me, with this new baby, all eyes will be on you at the next whisky event 😉 Use the code WHISKYLADY5 on Swally Shirts’ online shop – Valid until midnight April 30th )

What about the future for Swally Shirts ?

“We will continue to bring out new designs until we run out of ideas, and are looking at the possibilty of limited editions keeping the tie there with the drinks industry, particularly whisky. Not sure if we can put out something cask strength but if we can we will! Utimately we will continue to have fun and we hope that the shirts will always be interesting and relevant. We are shipping worldwide and have sent to The States, Japan, Australia and all over Europe.” Said Mark.

“We hope to keep spreading the word of good drinks, be that whisky or craft beer, across the globe.”
