I recently had the opportunity to try Four Roses OBSV Private Select, and I must say, it did not disappoint. As a fan of high-rye bourbons, I was excited to see how this particular blend would stack up against others I’ve tried in the past. What I found was a well-balanced bourbon that was slightly more fruity and herbal-forward than some of its earthy counterparts.<\/p>\n
The OBSV recipe is one of the ten unique recipes used by Four Roses, and it stands for “O” – fruity, “B” – full-bodied, “S” – spicy, and “V” – delicate fruit. This particular Private Select blend features a mash bill of 60% corn, 35% rye, and 5% malted barley and is aged for nine years. The result is a bourbon with a complex flavor profile that is sure to please both seasoned whiskey drinkers and newcomers alike.<\/p>\n
