While the sales period is currently in full swing around here – summer-style neon swimsuits and inelegant wedge sandals shamelessly colonising retail shelves – I thought it was high time for me to write this long-overdue piece (I received countless messages on social media asking me for my favourite “not-too-expensive” whiskies, and trust me the choice is highly difficult – Yes, I know a lot of “relatively cheap” whiskies as I started growing an interest for the amber nectar when I was still a pennyless student…).

First thing was to set myself a budget not to exceed in this shopping list – while I do believe there are some nice whiskies under £30, I chose a £50 limit so that I have more choice and can really come up with a list I REALLY enjoy (I’ve come accross too many “10 best whiskies under $blabla” bullshit lists…).

Let’s get the party started!
