Cotswolds Single Malt Spirit – Test Batch Series
This gift pack from the fledgling Cotswolds Distillery includes a trio of 20cl bottles of single malt spirit. It contains one each of an unaged new make, a five-month-old aged in a sherry casks and a third aged for 10 months in a wine barrique. A great way to see how the distillery’s first year of operation has progressed
Dubbed the official Irish Whiskey of the legendary band, The Pogues is made in Skibbereen, West Cork. This blended whiskey is sweet and intense with notes of malt and cracked nuts.
Amrut Everest Edition – Standing by Nepal TWE Exclusive
Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal in April 2015, director of The Whisky Exchange, Sukhinder Singh, decided to release a charity bottling to signify the strong links between India and Nepal, and to raise funds for the disaster-relief efforts. All profits from the sale of the bottles will go to the Help Nepal Network charity.
This limited-edition bottling from Amrut has been bottled from cask #07006 at a cask strength of 58.7%. It is rich and intense, with notes of tropical fruits and sweet spice, with a long finish. A very special bottling for a very special cause.
Jameson Caskmates sees the reuse of old whiskey barrels. Nothing new in that, but in between, they’ve been used to age stout from Cork’s Franciscan Well brewery. This has added notes of cocoa, coffee and butterscotch to this classic Irish whiskey.
Arran’s The Bothy was aged initially in first-fill bourbon barrels before being finished for 18 months in American oak quarter casks. Bottled at natural cask strength, this limited edition is sweet and spicy with notes of tropical fruit.
